Random Fun

The past few weeks have been quite boring.  We are finally out of school and pretty much slacking around most days.
Payton did have his first birthday party to attend but since he has not been feeling well for a few weeks he didn't have much fun:/

Here is the only picture I could get of Draidyn and Payton together. Once again you can really tell how big Payton is considering Draidyn is a year old and Payton is only 7 months.

We are still introducing the BLW, but he still isn't too interested. We recently started doing eggs for breakfast with stemmed carrots.

He thought it was quite funny at first..

Then he got bored and shy..

For snacks I have found the only think he loves (and that I don't worry about him choking on) is graham crackers! He loves them. I usually give him one a day but he makes SUCH a mess hehe.

I am excited to slowly introduce food to him little by little. He loves exploring new tastes and textures and it is so much fun to watch and teach him(:
That is about all that is going on around here but here are a few pictures of random days of random fun!

This is Payton with his "Pappy" (My Daddy)

Here is him with Nana. Nana was recently put in a Nursing home due to having hip surgery. I hate seeing her like this she wants to hold Payton so bad but she can't. I pray everyday she gets better but it's not but I doubt she will ever be able to walk again.

On a positive side, My other grandma bought Payton this hat the other day and I think it is SO adorable!! Everyone tells us how cute it is.. I think he looks like a little fisherman!:)

Grandpa introduced Payton to ice! Now every time we go to see them he gets so excited to sees the red cup.

So last Saturday Grandma Sims found a GREAT deal on a little 3ft pool. It wasn't much but that other one we got was just to hard for me and chad to get in with Payton to make sure he didn't fall. Anyways so Chad decided to go down and pick it up and give it a try. It was so fun. It was deep enough we went and got Payton one of these floaties and he loves kicking back and forth! It was so much fun for us all three to get into. I think Chad liked it more than Payton lol.

Payton's baptism and Mommies day!

Today has been a great day so far! Chad got up with Payton this morning, cooked me breakfast, and gave me my present... He booked me a massage for tomorrow!! I'm so excited. I have never had a massage but always wanted to so bad(: After eating breakfast we started getting ready for church. Today Payton got Baptized. He looked so darling in his little outfit. Apparently they do not do "christening" gowns any more so we just got him a little suit.

Here is his little suit. I know this picture is awkward but I just needed a full body photo!

Here is granny and papa(:

And the whole family (other than great-grandpa and great-grandma who had to leave a little early, and nana who is still recovering from surgery) Payton is just off in another world lol

Then we got all the mom's together for a "mother's day" photo!

and of course just out little family(:
After church Chad and I went and seen my grandma in the hospital who just had surgery. She was so excited to see Payton in his little suit. After there we stopped by Wal-Mart and picked up Payton's first little pool! It was even on sell for A QUARTER! talk about a deal...

It was kinda cold out only because we had a good breeze and unfortunately the water was still cool but all in all he liked it..

He splashed forever..

Chad looked like he was having Oh so much fun lol He just liked spraying the cats with water haha
It was a little chilly out but he loved splashing.. After about 45 minutes you could tell he started getting tired so we took him upstairs and he was out in about ten minutes! Anyways hope you enjoyed.. oh and Happy Mother's Day(:

Just a summary..

So I never really get to post one whole post about just one topic because there is not one thing with a six month old that is THAT interesting haha. So here is our life from the past few weeks. I recently started BLW (Baby Led Weaning) and it is going great! Payton is finally learning his motor skills of putting his hand to his mouth. They say most babies are putting everything in their mouth by now, but Payton... not so much. Here is a few things he has tried.

Here is an apple. He actually liked it, it was just cold..

And here is a vanilla wafer that we let him suck on until it got soft and he decided to stick the entire thing in his mouth lol.

And here are just a few random cute photos we have taken lately..
Since Payton has learned to sit up all by himself he LOVES riding in the buggy. I hate setting him in there without his cushion but it was so dirty.. but he laughs at Everything we pass!! People just laugh right back at us. I have no clue what he sees thats sooo funny haha.
He also has an "obsession" with the cartoon "Wow Wow Wubbzy". I bought him one on valentines day that I just happened to find at Wal-Mart. They are so hard to find because they are just the little short cartoons played on Nickjr. But he watches the same one over and over and over every day lol he Loves it.. Anyways we went to H.E.B. to get some baby food and I came across a different episode and he went nuts (only because he seen the character on the front) and this was what he did the rest of the grocery trip. It's so cute he acts like he can really read the cover..

I thought this was an adorable picture(: Chad was making pancakes (best ever btw) and he turned on the mixer. Payton is still very jumpy when loud noises come along, especially vehicles. Well he was playing with bear and as soon as Chad turned on the mixer he hugged bear and just watched Chad until he was done.. Makes my heart melt, I'm tearing up. lol He is defiantly getting a personality and realizing his surroundings!

As far as Chad and I go, we are great, stressed, but great. Finals are this week and next so we are studying hard core. We are also both working full time all week plus having fun with Payton. I'm so ready for classes to be out so things can calm down (somewhat). ugh. I am having horrible separation anxiety lately from leaving Payton so much.  Anyways here is the latest, I'll update next week or so.

Oh and on top of all that we are starting to plan his birthday! (I know still 5 mo away, but budgeting goes better when spread out!) I can't/can wait. It's going to be.... over the top I guess you could say(:

Poor baby..

So today Payton had his 6 month check up. It was a little late because his pedi was out of town. But he is officially 30 in 20 lbs he Is in the 100%for height 80% for weight. He also got his shots today. Let me say I cried just as bad as he did!! He had just woken up from his nap and was in a great mood then the nurse went and stuck him. He screamed and screamed. His poor little face was covered in tears and I couldn't hold it in any more.
So when we went to leave the other nurse took him from me and have him a "sucker" it was some sugar free baby candy thing. It was so cute but he really didn't care for it. Luckily it kept him occupied enough to forget about the shots though(:

Happy 6 months!(:

So today my lil man turns 6 months old(: Just thought I would share some pictures of how far along he has came in the past month! Sorry there is kind of a lot but a lot has happened this month(:

Here is Payton with Great Grandma, he had just turned five months.

And here he is with Great grandpa. We recently had to get him a convertible car seat, he was just so crammed in the infant one and almost hit the max height. He is fascinated by Grandpa and loves to listen to him talk.

Since we did away with the infant car seat we went ahead and bought him a tiny umbrella stroller. He likes this one much better, he can see everything thats going on and its so lightweight and easy to get in and out of the car. I don't believe I will be getting another travel system for the next baby it was just to much hassle.

He loves his tongue. He is constantly spitting and blowing bubbles at everyone. Its so cute.

Granny bought him a walker to play in while she watches him while I'm in class. He loves it but it will never be used for its intended purpose. Apparently now they expect babies to be 6 foot before learning to walk. Payton is very tall and still nowhere near touching the ground in this.

His biggest accomplishment of this month is learning to sit on his own. Every once in a while he will tip over, but he really has gotten the hang of it lately. I love how we can just set him down with his toys and he will entertain himself for at least thirty minutes. haha

Payton also has a new fascination with flowers. Every time we walk by the island he reaches out for my vase. he also apparently think they taste good..

Our next new trick of the month: Learning how to put our pasi in all by ourself! I love this one too!! I hated reaching around for it in the back seat while driving, now if its in reach he's got it. (he actually hates his pasi unless he's sleeping) but he loves swinging it around and hitting things with it.. lol

This is just a random pic Payton was just bouncing away sticking out his tongue. lol it was just a fun moment to capture..
Well I feel like he has developed so much in the past month I can't imagine whats coming next(: oh he also has his bottom two teeth but has NO interest in crawling yet haha. He hates being on his tummy but i still try to fit it in at least once a day..

Maybe he is a big boy(:

Ok so I never really seen how "big" Payton is.  People tell me on a daily basis "You sure do have a big boy" but I always reply with not really he's just tall. Well a few days ago I went over to a friends house, who has a little boy who will be turning a year old next month. Her little boy is only two pounds heavier than Payton and is the SAME height lol. For once I actually noticed how "big" my baby is..

Here is a picture of the two standing next to each other. It is hard to tell but obviously Payton can't stand up on his own so Chad had to try to keep his straight, he's a squirmy one haha
This was also Payton's first time to really be around another baby and actually realize it. He had so much fun. I am thinking it might be ok to start putting him in the nursery at church just to get some kid time(:

Start from Scratch!

Ok so I am going to start posting again and act like I never stopped. I know I have missed A LOT in the past six months but bare with me. So last you heard I was 38 weeks pregnant. Well Payton arrived two days early on October 20, 2011. He weighed 9lbs exactly and was 21 in long. The past 6 months have flown by. I can't believe our little pumpkin will be six months on Friday. Here are our latest pictures from Easter. Payton now weighs 19.3 lbs and is 30 in long!(:

Chad wanted to match Payton but it was So hard to find a tie the same design so he settled for something he already had..

This was at Meme and Pappys (my parents) house. My mom got him a little basket with a few toys. I was surprised he actually started digging through it like he knew what he was doing!

He also got a bask From Grandma and Grandpa (Chad's Parents) but I didn't have my camera around to take any pictures:(

Ok so I am definitely going to try to start taking more pictures of our little guy and posting them!!
