Our poor Payton Man...

So as most know Payton has had some major issues in the past with milk. He was out in the hospital three times around 11 mo old. The dr. kept diagnosing him with pneumonia but after long examining it seemed to be a milk allergy. Well we took Payton out of daycare for the time being to try to get him fully better but had to enroll him again when I started working full time. We told his teacher and the daycare he absolutely can not have any straight milk. Well all was well until about three weeks ago when they transitioned him classes without telling me. His new teacher started giving him milk! I started noticing what I thought was a diaper rash but with in 24 hours had turned into this...

He was soo swollen and had hives all over his body. I immediately started giving him the max dose of Benadryl he could have but it wasn't doing anything at all. I brought him to the doctor and she wrote a Rx for a steroid. She told us not to start it for about three more days and just to see if he gets rid of it on its own. Well by that night Chad and I both new he needed the steroid. It was getting worse by the hour. Unfortunately, I was stuck working 8 hour shifts every single day last week so Chad had control over most of this and he did great. He went and got him some Aveeno baths and that seemed to help his legs a ton. It killed me not being there for Payton man when he needed me the most. Being a working momma is hard, I will tell ya. Anyways, It took roughly 6 days to get Payton feeling better and it still seems to come and go. His diaper area is still real red and is getting hard to get rid of. I hope our little guy feels better soon.
Oh and I guess I didn't make it clear above. He will NOT be having this issue again from daycare. I made it very clear this was a big No No. I couldn't believe they did not relay a message so important such as an allergy. I even had to bring Payton in one day (for only a few hrs) and they seen just how bad he looked.

Other than that here are a few pictures from the past few weeks.

Payton has a new love for golf. He loves to whack the ball and he doesn't care he many swings (hundreds) it takes him to finally hit the ball
I am trying to become more crafty. I spend some of my spare time (when I can't sleep at night) doing new mom crafts. This is our new Spring wreath..

Payton hugging his Meme for finding his ball!

He is also very into talking on the phone recently. (only if no one
can hear him on the other end.) As soon as Chad walks out the door
he runs to the phone saying Dada.

 Payton and Pappy watching Tv.

And finally, We are slowly starting to introduce him to his potty. Judge away.
I do not expect him to be PT tomorrow, or for months for that matter. But
with the death scream we got the last time we put him on it I can tell this will be a long
drawn out process. So we might as well start sooner than later. And low and behold...
He didn't scream!! yah!!

Sorry I don't have any interesting blogs lately. Between a sick kid, working, and Chads finals our life stays pretty boring..

Easter Two thousand and thirteen.

Hope everyone had a great Easter! We had so much fun. Payton unfortunately woke up with a fever to add to his cold, but it was only a mild one so we still decided to go to church. He did great giving that he didn't feel well and hasn't had to sit still like that in a few months. I would really like to start going more and getting him comfortable in the nursery but with him just starting daycare I figure it's a bad idea for now. Well, after church we made it home to hunt Easter eggs before it rained. Payton just considered it "find the colored balls" haha. Oh well he still had fun. Then we had Grandma and Grandpa Sims over for a good home-cooked dinner. It was delicious.

Oh and I also took Payton for his Easter/18 mo pictures on Saturday and they turned out GREAT! Tell me what you think!
