June and July

I am so behind on this. And sadly I'm not even worried about it.. I know I will be thankful in the end that I make these and I know family loves looking at them but man they are a hassle. Lol.

Ok so a brief view of what our June and July has looked like.

Payton has been enjoying his time with Grandma and Grandpa Sims much more lately. He loves talking to Grandpa and sitting in his room with him. And he loves pushing Grandma up and down in her chair lol.

Last weekend Payton got really sick. Really fast. My parents picked him up from daycare at two and he has a low temp. By the time I got home at 2:30 it was up to 102 and by the time I got him home it was 104.5. We tried everything to get his temp down and we just couldn't. The next day we brought him to minor care since the doctors weren't open and they said he had a bad case of tonsillitis. So he got a shot and some antibiotics and we were sent home. He is doing much better now but has developed a bad cough. I hate when this little guy gets sick. He never seems to just catch something and get over it. It is always a long drawn out process that seems to get worse fast. I felt so bad for him. As you can see in the pictures I couldn't even keep him awake and even when he was awake he had no idea what was going on. I HATE fevers! :(

On a totally different note, I did chop all my hair off. and I hate it. lol. I thought I missed my short hair and how easy it was. My long hair was sticking to me in this nasty Texas heat. But I realized my regrets within minutes of leaving the salon. Sadly, my hair grows EXTREMELY slow and it will probably take almost a year to get it back to the length it was :(

This weekend I got to enjoy my very first golf game. I decided to take up golfing with my dad and Chad to get Chad and I in a hobby together. I had so much fun. Of course I was terrible but I didn't care. And I think Chad liked it because I was an easy one to beat. haha. I hope we can go again soon. I also got a very nice tan while playing, so that made it even better (:

Look at this little guy we saw (:
We also saw some bunnies and deer. It is gorgeous out there!

Chad brought Payton a balloon home from work yesterday and he absolutely loved it! haha He has so much fun letting go to the ceiling and pulling it back down. Funny how the little free things entertain him more than the stuff we spend money on haha.

Anniversary Weekend

The weekend after getting back from Arkansas, Chad and I had a trip planned to go out for our anniversary. I can't believe on the 14th of May, Chad and I had been married two years. It doesn't sound like much but the time has flown by. I thank God everyday for giving me such a great man. I can't believe I was so lucky to marry this man. We might have our ups and downs, but for a young couple getting through college and working full time plus raising a toddler, I think were doing pretty good!

We went to a spa resort called La Torretta, off lake Conroe. It was so
beautiful. They had a water resort, mini golf, lake side swimming, and tons more.

Chad's new wedding band I got him. He was a trooper when we got married and
settled for a 20 dollar Wal-Mart ring when we got married because he had already spent
so much on my ring. So this year I got him a real tungsten wedding band and even got it engraved for him.

Here is Chad loosing a put put game by one point. Now if you ask him
about this you will get a completely different (sap) story. haha

So glad we got to spend the weekend together. And we appreciate our parents
watching Payton. He didn't do so great on his first weekend without Mommy and Daddy, but
thats ok it doesn't happen very often. He was so happy to be in his own bed the night we got back. He just says "momma nite nite" So i put him to bed and we never heard a peep. (:

Arkansas Trip!

In May, we took our first family vacation to Arkansas for Grandma and Grandpa's 60th wedding anniversary. It was a great trip and we had so much fun spending time with the whole family. It was about a 10 hr trip one way and we were very surprised at how well Payton did. Key: lots of snacks and movies. haha. Payton loved spending time up there with all the kids. He has two cousins within about two months of his age. It's so nice to see him interact with other kids. He picks up so much so fast. Aunt Kathy threw a great party for Grandma and Grandpa. I have a ton of pictures but won't upload most of them. Their was so many people and everyone had so much fun!

Chad and I had so much fun that weekend. We never get to spend quality time together. It was so nice to just relax and enjoy time together.

Payton had so much fun playing with everyone and he loved
spending every second with Grandpa.

Of course there was cake. And where there is cake, there is Payton haha.

Luckily he was nice to share a few bites. (these pictures are terrible
of me but we were just being silly lol)

Ashleigh flew up for the weekend as well and Greg really liked spending
time with both his kids.

This is the whole group. It was an amazing turn out. Aunt Kathy throws
awesome partys ;)

On Friday, Cortney and Derek were so sweet and brought us to Silver Dollar City.
I have been as a kid and had so much fun! Unfortunately, we only got to stay an hr before they
closed but we used every second for the kids to play. This is Preslee, Cort and Dereks little girl. Isn't she just to precious! Her and Payton got along great. Payton followed her everywhere!

Aunt Ashleigh tagged along to the park and the kids had SO
much fun playing in the ball pit with her! Payton has a great aunt!

Payton loved spending so much time with his daddy. They
played all day from sun up to sun down. Chad is such an amazing daddy.
I hate that Payton don't get to see it all the time with Chad in school so much.

We had a great weekend. I definitely married into a great family. Aunt Kathy was so nice to let us bunk in her camper and feed us so much delicious food! We hope to make another trip up there at least once a year.

Our poor Payton Man...

So as most know Payton has had some major issues in the past with milk. He was out in the hospital three times around 11 mo old. The dr. kept diagnosing him with pneumonia but after long examining it seemed to be a milk allergy. Well we took Payton out of daycare for the time being to try to get him fully better but had to enroll him again when I started working full time. We told his teacher and the daycare he absolutely can not have any straight milk. Well all was well until about three weeks ago when they transitioned him classes without telling me. His new teacher started giving him milk! I started noticing what I thought was a diaper rash but with in 24 hours had turned into this...

He was soo swollen and had hives all over his body. I immediately started giving him the max dose of Benadryl he could have but it wasn't doing anything at all. I brought him to the doctor and she wrote a Rx for a steroid. She told us not to start it for about three more days and just to see if he gets rid of it on its own. Well by that night Chad and I both new he needed the steroid. It was getting worse by the hour. Unfortunately, I was stuck working 8 hour shifts every single day last week so Chad had control over most of this and he did great. He went and got him some Aveeno baths and that seemed to help his legs a ton. It killed me not being there for Payton man when he needed me the most. Being a working momma is hard, I will tell ya. Anyways, It took roughly 6 days to get Payton feeling better and it still seems to come and go. His diaper area is still real red and is getting hard to get rid of. I hope our little guy feels better soon.
Oh and I guess I didn't make it clear above. He will NOT be having this issue again from daycare. I made it very clear this was a big No No. I couldn't believe they did not relay a message so important such as an allergy. I even had to bring Payton in one day (for only a few hrs) and they seen just how bad he looked.

Other than that here are a few pictures from the past few weeks.

Payton has a new love for golf. He loves to whack the ball and he doesn't care he many swings (hundreds) it takes him to finally hit the ball
I am trying to become more crafty. I spend some of my spare time (when I can't sleep at night) doing new mom crafts. This is our new Spring wreath..

Payton hugging his Meme for finding his ball!

He is also very into talking on the phone recently. (only if no one
can hear him on the other end.) As soon as Chad walks out the door
he runs to the phone saying Dada.

 Payton and Pappy watching Tv.

And finally, We are slowly starting to introduce him to his potty. Judge away.
I do not expect him to be PT tomorrow, or for months for that matter. But
with the death scream we got the last time we put him on it I can tell this will be a long
drawn out process. So we might as well start sooner than later. And low and behold...
He didn't scream!! yah!!

Sorry I don't have any interesting blogs lately. Between a sick kid, working, and Chads finals our life stays pretty boring..

Easter Two thousand and thirteen.

Hope everyone had a great Easter! We had so much fun. Payton unfortunately woke up with a fever to add to his cold, but it was only a mild one so we still decided to go to church. He did great giving that he didn't feel well and hasn't had to sit still like that in a few months. I would really like to start going more and getting him comfortable in the nursery but with him just starting daycare I figure it's a bad idea for now. Well, after church we made it home to hunt Easter eggs before it rained. Payton just considered it "find the colored balls" haha. Oh well he still had fun. Then we had Grandma and Grandpa Sims over for a good home-cooked dinner. It was delicious.

Oh and I also took Payton for his Easter/18 mo pictures on Saturday and they turned out GREAT! Tell me what you think!
