Father's Day

Father's day was so much fun this year. Normally we would just get my dad a gift card or something (which we did this year too) But this year we got to celebrate with Chad(: After doing some serious Pintresting I found some great ideas!
First thing that morning I got up at 6 am to cook Chad and my Dad Pigs n the blanket. (There fav). Then After church I gave Chad his presents(:

First I decided to get Payton to make something for him that was really "from him". I got the recipe for the salt dough footprint off pintrest and put it together for Payton to paint. The only thing I didn't like about the finished product was it was still kind of mushy after being baked. (I even baked it for longer and it didn't harden any more) Anyways it was fun to let Payton paint and Play. He didn't care much for the paint because he takes after his daddy and HATES getting his hands dirty lol(:

Then I made chad a frame of pictures with Payton holding the letters D-A-D-D-Y and then just wrote him a little note on the side. I picked up these Letters from Hobby lobby for a dollar, the frame is a poster frame it was only ten bucks then I just put scrapbook paper behind the pictures to dress it up a little. Chad Loved this idea. He actually teared up when (after 2 or 3 min) realized that Payton was spelling Daddy(:

Here are the pics I chose (they look better printed and cropped). It was so much fun doing this. We had to take almost 200 pictures just to get 5 I liked tho!!

Then to top it off I went and bought Chad a bike trailer for Payton to ride in. He has been dying for one of these. He immediately took Payton out in it. We had to buy a small battery fan to put in it due to how hot it has been here, but even with the fan we rarely have been able to go because Payton just gets to over heated.

The summer has been great so far!We are headed to Galveston Saturday for Paytons first beach trip, Then on Monday we head off to Minnesota to hang out with the family for a week or so. I am super nervous about flying with Payton. He is a very rambunctious child and hates to sit still so I know he won't do well on a 12 hr trip (5 hrs on the plane). We will see!

The Photographer Himself

Well, today I will be giving my lovely wife a break from her blog posting and post a little something myself. As Jessica stated in a previous post, her uncle let us borrow his camera to try it out and work with it to see if we like it. It would be an understatement to say that we are, or I am, just "trying it out". I can honestly say that it has almost turned into an obsession for me as I have not been able to stop taking picture of cats, trees, bugs, floorboard, mosquitoes, and most importantly our dearest baby Payton. Jessica and I have decided that maybe I should cut the picture taking down to a minimum because the excessive amount of picture taking and camera flashes will eventually give him a seizure, ha! Anyways, here are some of the picture that I have taken...

Payton loves  to stand up on and hang on to his crib, but more so play hide-and-seek with his mommy and daddy! Hopefully in the near future we can play hide-and-GO-seek, that is if we ever decide to start walking or crawling!

Peek-a-boo!

Anyways, that is all for now! I will leave the long post and detailed writing to my wife!

The Outside World

This week we took Payton to the park for the first time.. He LOVED it(:
The first thing we put him on was the swing. (and yes I know he is sitting backwards but that was the only way he was comfortable!) He loved the swing more than anything.

Daddy was a better pusher than me. I was just to scared he would fall out!

We tried Sliding but Daddys butt was too big to go down. And Payton didn't like going down alone at all. So then we just started snapping a few photos since we rarely get out of the house, and would like some pictures with a background other than our red walls. Here is a few good ones..

It is so hard to get him to smile. Every time he sees the light blink he stops smiling!

Daddy is such a good photographer!

I am so glad we got out of the house today. It was so nice (well early in the morning) we had to head home by about 11 because the heat started to get us:( oh well better than nothing! Hope you enjoyed!
